Annotation

Exploring the Kenyan language-in-education policy in a rural Western Kenyan school, this study discloses the complexity of the multilingual and multiethnic context, witnessing language shift and civil unrest, and compulsion to direct learners to Kiswahili and English despite of policy support for mother tongue (in this case Sabaot) education in the early grades.
