A textbook for the didactics of composition and rhetoric in English. In addition to a general introductory chapter to discourse in English, and a chapter on the aims of discourse, different types of discourse and their characteristics are handled in successive chapters (reference discourse, persuasive discourse, literary discourse, and expressive discourse).
