Drawing on data from Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme respondents (N = 213), this paper discusses how the newly designed Sojourner Self-Efficacy in Communication (SSEC) Scale presents new avenues from which to examine matters of intercultural communication and cultural adaptation.
