This paper examines the apology of the Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, for the head tax, imposed upon Chinese immigrants, and considered a historical injustice. This rhetoric produced a discursive space for a constructive and reinforced relationship between the Chinese-Canadian community and the government of Canada.
