Annotation
The dabate on the French language in Quebec still remains a hot topic. The october 2010 enactment of the law 115 on bridging schools following the judgment of the Supreme Court of 22 october 2009 has reactivated the language question debate. This article emphasizes the difficulties encountered by the Canadian state and in Quebec, when intervening in the matter of linguistic legislation. It further discusses the history of the law 115 and the changes it engenders. Finally, it analyzes its implications within the frame of education and identity in Quebec.
