This paper investigates translation-related problems when it comes to translating poetry. The paper examines a set of translations of a Romanian poem by various non-native (but proficient) speakers of English. It is hypothesized that this poem is almost impossible to translate due to both lexical and cultural issues. In order to improve translatability, it is suggested turning the peritext of the bi- or plurilingual poem editions into a dialogue with more actants.
