Annotation
When non-native speakers have to produce lengthy discourse in the form of a short monologue or extended turn, specificity and consistency miscues at the semantic, and relevance miscues at the pragmatic level, often accumulate and interact, engendering a discourse which the listener may conceive of as difficult to follow or incoherent. The patterns of impairment and interaction, as observed in a test-analysis, are discussed in detail.
