Annotation

Regarding pragmatics, ‘emancipatory’ indicates a discipline that does not correspond with the conventional definition of linguistic work. Yet emancipating pragmatics from its linguistic thraldom must unavoidably comprise a plan for the next steps: in order to be successful, emancipation requires anticipation. Thus, anticipatory pragmatics proactively fosters language use in non-suffocant ways; it awaits and impedes offensive language of all kinds by empowering the users, both on the domestic and the (inter)national locale.
