Fluent Isleño Spanish speakers use predictive conditionals to point out the future outcomes of current actions regarding the frail southeastern Louisiana wetlands. The conditionals are organized as general cautions in order to meet the community's politeness rules, in which solidarity prevails and the addressees must not be reproached.
