Annotation

This study explores linguistic ideologies, language and identity, language names, multilingualism, and particular speech registers in Awyu-Ndumut speech communities in the Indonesian province of West Papua, from the point of view of clan-based cultural and linguistic practices and it examines the relationship between Papuan and Indonesian languages from the point of view of the dynamics of the clan land/settlement opposition.
