Annotation

This study discusses how the use of lexical tone, an underrepresented sociolinguistic variable, can be of value as an empirical measure of language contact and change, and in the case concerned how the high tone of Southwest Mandarin Chinese affects the Sui and Qiang rural southwest Chinese minority languages.
