Annotation

This study argues that Kurds' linguistic/cultural and physical genocide in Turkey over the past eight and a half decades, directly resulted from the Kemalist/Ataturkist modernity project. Language policy – which has defended linguistic imperialism alongside linguistic genocide – has constituted a critical instrument for the generation of the modern Turkish nation-state.
