Annotation

Given the swift increase of Chinese–English bilingual programmes in China, this study proposes evidence from various linked empirical studies, recently performed in three Chinese schools affiliated with the China–Canada–United States English Immersion (CCUEI) project, to evaluate the efficiency of these programmes in relation to students' academic achievement, their cognitive development and the teaching and acquisition processes with regard to teacher education.
