Annotation

This study reveals several factors influencing the extent to which deaf children from migrant background families are able to develop (oral) heritage language proficiency, such as hearing loss type and age at cochlear implantation. Heritage language maintenance attemps though always appear to positively affect family relationships, communication and ethnic community participation.
