An investigation of various aspects of the phenomenon of idiomatic constructions in natural language. They are analyzed on a purely linguistic basis (semantics, variation, typology, stylistics and pragmatics), they are investigated with respect to their occurrences in contexts; and their role in language games in newspaper language and literary language is considered.
