This article deals with aspects of embodiment, observed in auto-shop interactions, that oppose a 'visual' embodiment approach, comprising embodied knowledge and kinesthetic experience, and reviews a range of approaches that present alternative perspectives on the human body, like philosophical anthropology, neuroscience and phenomenology. The question is raised how a strict, observational interaction analysis methodology can be linked with a holistic understanding of the human body.
