Annotation

This paper discusses the prognoses of Generative and Usage-based Phonology, two leading phonological representation models, on the possible acquisition of specific second dialect features, and estimates them against the findings of a sociolinguistic study on adults who acquired their native English dialect in Canada and their second English dialect as they moved to New York.
