This paper enlightens the meanings of selected Russian social category terms from the Russian National Corpus-‘one's own’, ‘stranger/foreigner’, ‘ours’ and ‘not ours’-, determining links between these meanings and selected Russian communicative styles, and adding to the comprehension of Russian relationships and social cognition.
