Annotation

This paper discusses the meta-theoretical principles of the pragma-dialectical approach and the underlying critical reasonableness conception. It focuses on the ‘illocutionary perlocution’ arguing/convincing. It is argued how, based on comprehension, the communicative dynamics of arguing aim to generate the interactional effect of addressee acceptance. It is also explained how valid and fallacious argumentative moves may be identified.
