Annotation

Manipulation is best to be explained as a communication form attempting to interrupt the accessibility order of contextual assumptions to prevent the hearer's interpretation of manipulative utterances to access an inconsonant, albeit optimal, set of contextual assumptions. The pragmatics of similar interpretative tendencies appears best accounted for within a relevance-theoretic framework.
