This article explores the language input to five children aged two to four living in a small remote multilingual Indigenous Australian community. The majority of caregivers' input is in the local creole, indicating a quick shift from the traditional Walmajarri language, broadly spoken at the community's establishment in the late 1980s. Traditional language input mainly comes from older interlocutors, and Standard Australian English input stays minimal until formal school system entrance.
