This paper discusses how living in a new country leads to a syncretism of language, literacy and learning practices which add to the dynamic nature of each faith in London, focusing on childrens' learning by hart of key sacred texts in four London faith communities (Polish Catholic, Ghanaian Pentecostal, Bangladeshi British Muslim and Tamil Hindu).
