Annotation

This paper deals with a narrative study on language maintenance and linked identity experiences of an Afrikaans-speaking South African migrant residing in New Zealand since 2001. The migrant successfully maintained Afrikaans and attained social inclusion within his social networks, but the interplay between social inclusion and language maintenance and self-construction is dynamic and intricate in migrant contexts.
