Spolsky (2003) profitably differentiates between policies targeting “revitalization” in Breton home language learning and practice (especially in educational policy) and “regeneration” in broader societal activities. This article focuses on the regeneration attempts illustrated by the Ya d'ar Brezhoneg program for local language plans, using qualitative interview data from Breton language professionals and employees of the Region's Breton language promotion agency.
