Annotation

This paper discusses Breton minority language education, as procured by Diwan schools, against the background of European and French language policy. It espouses a critical approach towards Diwan's ideological positions by handling language minority schooling as a kind of multilingual education. It is suggested that Diwan is actually positioned in a transient stage between a monoglossic and a heteroglossic ideological frame.
