This paper discusses how English-Arabic bilingual children's sociolinguistic competence regards their skills to switch between languages and between native and non-native varieties, for communicative goals. It examines the role of social, contextual, and interactional factors in molding the childrens' English accent and their expanding sociophonetic competence in English-only and in codeswitched discourse.
