Annotation

This study explores how Mauritian Muslims, socialized into Kreol language and literacy in madrassahs, perceive Kreol at the madrassah and at school. It is found that whilst they permit written Kreol at the madrassah, they employ a French-Kreol literacy variety and try to shift to French in the near future.
