Annotation

This paper discusses how an aphasic speaker chooses instead of repair in case of communicative problems, to creatively mobilize the linguistic features of the word 'sorry' to make things interpretable for the interlocutors in order to get around the problem and pursue the interaction. This deployment of sorry to proceed with the conversation depends for its outcome on epistemic authority.
