Broadcast journalism constitutes a clear environment for examining sequences in which responses to questions are supplied but not always treated as answers. This paper explores the design of answer pursuits (identifying three major factors) in broadcast interactions and what they attain within such settings. It elucidates a central way by which individuals can make others liable for responding and by which a particular kind of problem in question-answer sequences is repaired.
