Annotation
Metaphor is a key element in architecture where it mediates the different phases in architectural design as well as the debate on finished buildings in post-construction genres. This paper reviews how metaphor is deployed across the design stages in three divergent genres, to wit architects' texts reflecting upon their design, scholarly articles, and architectural reviews. It tries to demonstrate how metaphor is employed, re-used and further developed (i.e., re-contextualized) by architects in the thinking and discursive aims involved in their work.
