This study draws on Linell's (2009) “recontextualization” typology to explore the re-usage of specific metaphors in three pairs of related texts, -each generated over a number of years, on the subjects of medicine, politics and the upbringing of children with particular needs-, in order to transmit new meanings and gyp new functions.
