Drawing on Cameron and Kulick’s idea of ‘the heteronormative hierarchy’, this paper examines how heterosexuality is discursively constructed and co-reproduced in everyday 'queer' talk, arguing that the close connection between sexuality and gender is indispensable for the subsistence of heteronormativity.
