Annotation

This conversation analytic study explores motives for speed dating participation. The college-aged volunteers collaboratively formulate rather 'casual', disinvested motives and dater identities. But when proposed seriously, the ‘obvious’ speed dating motive – meeting someone to date – is reputed accountable.
