Annotation

In this study, English-speaking Americans, English-speaking Palestinians, and Arabic-speaking Palestinians evaluate the degree to which each of 12 words refer to the diverse emotions embodied by 22 facial expressions. Only one translation (happiness–farah) passes both equivalence tests. All others diverge with culture or language.
