Annotation

This paper deals with Spanish language shift reversal in bilingual call centers in El Paso, Texas, in the context of the new information economy. The in this border area freely available Spanish “heritage language” (and thus English-Spanish bilingualism) is not valued as a social and technical labor market skill though.
