As well as offering new insights into the multi-audience, multi-purpose, transcontextual discourse modes of English and Welsh police-suspect interviews, this paper tries to increase comprehension of the interactional impact of audience at the discourse level, and to add to theoretical model development for settings with plural or asynchronous audiences.
