This paper claims that not the production place of discourse, but rather its interactional stances and concerned participation framework, design it as front or backstage. Goffman's dramaturgical model is shown to be useful in exploring leadership discourse within organisations, especially those with multiple leaders. The presented and examined extracts occur in a New Zealand rugby team with two coaches.
