This article explores im/politeness in- interaction on the basis of small stories as a framework for narrative and identity analysis. Concentrating on the stories’ manner of narrating, sites, and tellers and drawing on the positioning notion illuminates tellers’ management of specific im/politeness norms in the uses of and conduct in new media sites.
