Annotation

This article proposes a novel methodology to teach the pragmatics of phatic communion in English as a second language classes and to enhance learners' meta-pragmatic awareness, combining apposite findings from pragmatics and adjacent disciplines, and joining various approaches (and including tasks) to instruct intercultural pragmatics.
