Interlocutors in intercultural project partnerships cooperate by action coordination in order to achieve the communicative goal of mutual comprehension. This communication situation is “fragile” as it can coerce participants to be more self-oriented and, thence, less cooperative. It is argued that affective factors, face inclusive, play a principal role.
