Annotation

This article examines the sometimes colliding linguistic ideologies that affected the over the past 25 years significantly elaborated Māori language mathematics lexicon and register, in order to back up (Western) mathematics teaching as an element of Māori-medium schooling. It also specifically explores the roles, policies and beliefs of the in the process involved agents, mapping the links between micro, meso and macro levels of language policy and practices in this setting.
