Annotation

This article reviews the sociolinguistic profiles of eight multilingual migrants to Melbourne and explores the circumstances that define their enduring use, besides English, of leastwise two of their ‘home country’ languages. Social network construction, especially family- and friend-based and neighbourhood and workplace-related, and equal to those in their homeland, has proved pivotal for them to maintain multilingualism.
