The narratives of foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) in a Hong Kong church shelter prove that FDHs are ignored by Hong Kong society's ethics and equity. They are discredited and belittled, and this treatment may influence their self-perception. Local stereotypes and ideological representations are explored as possible reason for 'justifying' this exploitation.
