Annotation

An attempt to show that a wide variety of linguistic phenomena (e.g. pronominalization, backward subject deletion, relativization, etc.) are primarily controlled by non-syntactic factors. Three functional perspectives are offered: functional sentence perspective, the direct-discourse analysis perspective and the empathy perspective.
