This study assesses the potential of FDG, including an extended model of context (EMC), as basis for inquiry of recontextualisation and co-occuring resemiotisation processes. The explored corpus of (science communication) texts comprises one antecedent and six derivative texts. It is argued that recontextualisation can be profitably examined via the EMC categories, whereas modern FDG provides a theoretical base for an important section of resemiotisation analysis.
