Annotation

Using Spolsky’s (2004) language policy model, this study explores two areas of family language policy (FLP), namely language ideology and language practice, with respect to the threatened Malacca Portuguese Creole (MPC) language. Despite a general perception of MPC constituting an ethnic and cultural identity marker for Malacca's Portuguese Eurasians, this is not directly transferred into its circulation within the family.
