Annotation

Today the Village of Tewa in the Northern Arizona Hopi Reservation encounters novel linguistic diversity and change given language shift to English. The now symbolic Tewa language that the Hopis' ancestors conveyed from the Rio Grande Valley nearly 325 years ago, is broadly appraised within the community. But language factions have risen and their discussions and disputes focus on rightful language learning and the adequate perservation of their emblematic language.
