Drawing on studies during the last Sri Lankan civil war stage, this study discusses how a Muslim family uses voicing to assess other individuals and ethnic groups with respect to morality and responsibility. It is proposed that in an ambience of enwrapping anxiety, responsibility pertains to people's liability for what they say and do but is also crucial to the manner people position themselves with respect to others.
