This study discusses arrangement making for future services in telephone talk-in-interaction between clients and staff of community and home care (CHC) services. Repeated sequences are discerned in which clients are enlightened about future arrangements and elicited to answer with “response solicitation” (Jefferson 1981); the latter are routinely employed when recipients hold some discretion with respect to the matter under discussion.
