This paper asserts that although both state and institution-authored language policies freely champion ‘parallellingualism’ as guidebook for administering multilingualism at Danish universities, in the state-authored policies, this appears to signify ‘more Danish’, whilst in the institution-authored policies it appears to signify ‘more English’. Some underpinning ideologies are suggested before debating the consequences for workplace discourse.
